Hot tub rules in Kingsville
Every municipality sets its own rules for hot tubs. This is what the Town of Kingsville publishes:
- A hot tub must have a secure, locked cover of rigid material over its opening. Unlike most municipalities, Kingsville offers no fence alternative.
- It must be accessory to a dwelling and at least 1.8 metres from other buildings.
- It may not be placed in a front yard or on an easement, and must be at least 1 metre from the side and rear lot lines.
- These rules are in the Town’s Fence By-law 63-2025, which does not say whether a hot tub needs a permit — ask the Town’s Building Services.

The cover that comes with an Arctic Spa is rigid, locks, and meets ASTM Standard F1346-91 — the safety-cover standard several Ontario municipalities name. Ask your showroom for the cover’s specifications if your municipality wants them with a permit application.
Separately, anywhere in Ontario: electrical work you hire out must be done by a Licensed Electrical Contractor, who files the notification of work with the Electrical Safety Authority. Every spa needs a GFCI breaker. See our site preparation guide for the electrical supply each spa needs.
