A pool you can swim in during February

Swim spas put a counter-current, therapy seats and year-round heat in a footprint a fraction of an in-ground pool. And it goes in far faster than an in-ground pool, without a summer of digging.

Questions people ask us

Where can I see Arctic Spas hot tubs in Ontario?

At our showrooms in Kitchener, London and Windsor. Each is open seven days a week. You can walk in, or book a visit so a product specialist is ready for you and the models you want to try are filled and heated.

How much does a hot tub cost?

The price depends on the model, the jet package (Prestige, Signature, Legend or Legend Select) and the options you add. Build one on any model page and we will send a written quote for your exact build from your nearest showroom, including delivery and current offers. Financing is available.

What is the difference between a hot tub and a swim spa?

A hot tub is built for soaking and hydrotherapy, usually 2 to 3 metres long, kept around 38 to 40 °C. A swim spa, which Arctic calls an All-Weather Pool, is longer and uses a counter-current system so you can swim in place, then heat it up for a soak. It needs more space and a larger base.

Do I need a permit for a hot tub in Ontario?

Rules are set by each municipality. Many Ontario towns do not require a building permit for a portable hot tub but do require a locking safety cover or a fenced yard, and new wiring is done by a licensed electrical contractor who files the notification with the Electrical Safety Authority. Our town pages summarise the rules the municipalities around each showroom publish.

What kind of electrical does a hot tub need?

Most full-size hot tubs run on a dedicated 240 V circuit with a GFCI breaker, typically 40 to 60 amps depending on the model and pump package. A licensed electrician installs it. Some compact models can be ordered as 120 V plug and play to run from a standard outlet. Your quote lists the exact requirement for the model you pick.

What do I put a hot tub on?

A level, solid base that can carry the full weight: a reinforced concrete pad, compacted gravel with pavers, or a deck a builder confirms is rated for it. Water alone weighs 1 kg per litre, and the spec sheets list the Kodiak at 1,736 kg full and the Ocean swim spa at 5,966 kg full, before anyone gets in.

Can you use a hot tub through an Ontario winter?

Yes. Arctic Spas are designed and built in Alberta for cold climates, with fully insulated cabinets and covers built to hold heat in deep cold. Plenty of our customers say winter is when they use it most.

Where do you deliver?

Across Southwestern Ontario from the nearest showroom: Waterloo Region, Wellington, Perth, Oxford and Huron counties from Kitchener; Middlesex, Elgin, Lambton and Huron from London; Essex County and Chatham-Kent from Windsor. Our own delivery team brings the spa in and sets it in place.
